The
body is the abode of thickly fabricated channels. Based on
their origin and what they transport there exists thirteen channels.
They are interconnected in functional level. They are those that move
vital breath, water, food, chyle, blood, muscle, fat, bone, marrow,
semen, unirne, feaces and sweat. Various signs appear when any of the
channels are blocked or are impaired involuntarily which leads to disease
process.
Dhatusaram
This
represents the essence of the components of the body. Ayurveda describes
eight Sara lakshanas ( signs of purity ), which belong to skin, blood,
muscle, fat, bone, marrow, semen and mind. The presence of adequate
Sara endows him with specific set of physical attributes, which is a
mark of perfect health. Research
